Launching Summer 2024

The Psychedelic History Archive is a volunteer-based project sponsored by a grant from the Humanities Institute at UC Santa Cruz. The goal is to digitally publish and annotate some of the most significant public domain historical sources relating to the history and culture of psychedelics from the early modern period to the present.

It will launch in summer, 2024.

Quick start guide

Most of the links below are not active as this site is still in “soft launch” mode, though new pages are regularly being added. The goal is to create a free, widely-accessible, non-profit resource for students, researchers, patients, and others interested in the history of psychedelics to access excerpts of important primary sources and learn about understudied aspects of psychedelic history.

This resource would not be possible without the dedication of the librarians, archivists, and Wikipedia users who have maintained and digitized historical materials over the years.
